Employee Spotlight – Getting to Know Angela Gaffney, Managing Director of Enterprise Solutions
Continuing with our 2022 Employee Spotlight series, this month we bring to you our Managing Director of Enterprise Solutions, Angela Gaffney. Read more below to find out more about Angela and her thoughts about what makes Cprime different from other companies.
What inspires you?
Wow, there are so many things… I think technology just in it of itself is ever-changing and it amazes me how many things we can do today with technology. Each day there’s something new that I learn, I find, I see that I can do, and that inspires me to learn more and to see what else is out there.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a lawyer. It was just one of those weird things my parents told me as young as four or five. I don’t know if I saw it on TV, but I wanted to be a lawyer and go argue and be in court with folks.
When did you realize that you weren’t going to be a lawyer?
I think it was probably the first video game that I saw or the first time we got the home game machine and I got to see what you could do with computers and I was sold from the first day.
What Cprime value resonates with you the most, why?
Teamwork definitely is the value that is most important to me. As a leader, I think it’s so important to give your teams an opportunity to be empowered to have their own voice and to feel like they’re part of the process of guiding the organization and making decisions. So, teamwork is definitely one of the values that I hold highest.
What makes Cprime’s culture different from others?
In a lot of companies that I’ve worked for previously, there was always a kind of an untold or unsaid fear of if you didn’t know something you were afraid to admit you didn’t know. It was always about showing you can handle any situation and I think one of the strongest things that I’ve seen about the Cprime culture is that it truly is a team where it’s okay if you say, “hey, I don’t know,” because someone does, and everyone is here to support and help everyone. It’s very much a culture where we accept that not everybody in the room needs to know everything, and we know that somebody who is smarter than me is probably sitting next to me. So you know, that shows a lot of trust and gives some of our credence to that value of teamwork that we talked about.
What are you most proud of, personally and professionally?
That’s a big question. I think for me, being able to be successful in a predominantly male-driven field as a female, but still maintain my personality and who I am and my family life and that work-life balance is something that I’m proud of. I know that a lot of people struggle with that and it’s made a lot of news here lately, but it hasn’t in previous years, so I’m glad to see that it’s starting to come to the forefront, and people are starting to realize the challenges that have been faced in the last 20 years within the technology field.
What is one thing on your bucket list that you wish to accomplish this year?
I would like to travel! Rome is someplace that I have just always wanted to go see and explore and, sadly, I had a trip planned a couple of years ago, but obviously, with the pandemic, I had to move my plans. So hopefully things will get better and I will be able to make it out to France and Italy this year.
What are you most excited about at Cprime in 2022?
I think the biggest thing that excites me is around the solutions that we’re now supporting, the new partners that we’re bringing to the forefront, and the focus around really helping customers solve problems. Looking at that entire ecosystem and drawing a value stream tools map for a client to show them exactly where and what problems they may have within their organization, or how we can help them save money, I think is just a fresh approach to the trouble that’s facing every organization in how we survive in a hybrid work world.
Your one piece of advice for new Cprimers?
Come in with an open mind and stay true to yourself and to your passion. Cprime gives you the ability to chase after those things that you’re passionate about. There are multiple organizations, multiple avenues within Cprime where you can certainly stay true to your own passion and be successful within the organization.
