Robert Clawson

Robert Clawson is a talented, energetic, and insightful coach focused on core values, company success, product quality, client focus, and team cohesion. Robert is an ISTQB instructor for Cprime and external partners in subjects related to software testing and software testing on agile teams. Robert began his journey in software development after completing his bachelor’s degree at Northern Illinois University with a focus on technical writing. He began to work in software testing and quality assurance on agile teams nearly a decade ago.  He went on to pursue Six Sigma certification through the American Society for Quality (ASQ), become a certified Agile project manager through Northwestern University, and a Certified Professional in Agile Coaching from IC Agile. Robert has continued to go on to earn numerous certifications from organizations such as Scrum Alliance, Scrum.Org, and ISTQB.

Robert has spent more than a decade in the information technology field with a primary focus on Agile framework, Product development, and Software quality. He started his career doing IT testing in software development and has more than 8 years working on strictly Agile product development.  

He spent 8 years at the Warranty Group, helping the organization through a lean transformation and into a mature product development lifecycle using Six Sigma methodology. Since then, 

he has achieved success as a quality assurance manager overseeing custom software & application development exceeding quality KPIs of defect containment & rejection rates across all products before becoming more focused on Agile transformations at team, organization, and enterprise levels. Robert is a true Coach, leading (sometimes distributed) 

Agile teams in delivering high-value software products while emphasizing collaboration, team self-management, & ensuring flexibility to adapt to emerging business realities for both private sector clients & the Federal Government; a servant leader helping teams align on their best way of working to build trust and accountability. 

Through his experience in varied industries and teams, Robert has learned that software development is complex. Being able to coach teams to respond to change and collaboratively work together to deliver quality software is not an easy endeavor but it’s a challenge worth undertaking to build high-performing and self-sufficient teams.
