Introduction to Agile Hardware Development
First thing’s first, let’s talk about Hardware vs. Software Development
Software Development: Teams develop a software product for use by customers.
Hardware Development: Teams develop the design for a product, to be used in manufacturing the product.
Why Hardware Development is relevant to Agile, and to you.
For many large enterprises, the alignment of hardware and software processes are critical in managing a stable Agile environment, for others, increased visibility, predictability and responding quickly to business changes is critical. Typically, Agile is only utilized for software, making changes in hardware development come at a higher cost. Fortunately, that does not have to be the case. We have found that the benefits of Agile are not only achieved through software development, but by hardware as well. Or, in other words, Agile can be done in, and is valuable to, hardware development.
