Q&A with Chris Riley, Founder / CEO, HKM Consulting
We were able to grab a few minutes of Chris’s time to ask him about the acquisition of HKM Consulting. Read below to learn what the acquisition means for HKM Consulting customers and how his team is being integrated into Cprime’s DevOps practice, headed by Brandon Cipes.
Q: Can you provide us an overview of why HKM Consulting decided to be acquired by Cprime?
A: Great question but it requires a bit of historical context. HKM has been working with Cprime delivering various DevOps implementations as a partner. Zubin Irani, Cprime’s CEO, and I met via discussions around Docker and its place in the market. From that meeting we developed a great relationship, established a partnership and got a chance to work with his team in a variety of customer engagements. Each customer engagement really gave us insight into how Cprime works and the respect their customers had for them. Towards the end of 2016, we both came to the conclusion that we needed to take the next step and merge our talents to create the next phase of high quality DevOps solutions and services.
Q: What does the acquisition mean to existing HKM and Cprime customers?
A: For the existing HKM customers there is no change in the relationship and in fact it is even stronger due to the size and additional implementation resources that are at our disposal. For Cprime customers we are looking forward to sharing and providing our deep expertise in Cloud, APIs, Middleware and DevOps.
Q: Can you talk a little about how the HKM team is impacting Cprime customers now?
A: Currently we are engaging with clients helping define public cloud architecture, test automation strategies, CI / CD definition, monitoring configurations, API best practices as well as implementing Atlassian and Splunk integrated solutions. Separately we are working with the Cprime sales team to help act as a trusted advisor as organizations implement, enhance or replace their DevOps strategies including impacted roles, processes and technology.
